Blessed

Today I feel so blessed.  I woke up to the birds in literal symphony.  In our living room the sun streamed in through open windows and cool air danced on the counter tops, tickling it's way through my older daughter's bed head hair.

My husband was home for a moment.  Long enough to kiss me good.  Not the groggy good-bye I usually give as he leaves at 3:30 in the morning.

(Sigh)

Then, the most amazing and exciting thing happened.  I found out that I won a prize from the Melissa Frances blog.  (Aaaaaaahh! - Angels singing)  One of my all time favorite designers!!  :)  So, coming soon to yours truly is the Vintage Posey Page Kit.

Adorable right?  Thank you Melissa Frances for the icing on my amazing, ordinary day.  I'll be sure to share my creation here when I get to work with my cool prize.

Make and Take Mother's Day

Look what I made for my mama!  She is the sweetest, most kind and giving person I know.  I am grateful everyday for the influence she has had in my life.  I also created this card to teach as a Make and Take this Saturday for a 12 hour crop I am hosting for National Scrapbooking Day.  Melissa Phillips' blog, LilyBean's Paperie is a huge inspiration for me.

I used Anna Griffin paper, a Glimmer Chip, vintage German glitter glass, pink seam binding, a Tim Holtz stamp (I circled the month 5, and the day 9 with a white pen for Mother's Day.)  If the gals want to change the "Mother" tag, they can also use it for Wedding, Thank You or lots of things.

Wait until you see the class I am teaching for the crop.  I am pulling it together tonight, so I'll share it soon.

Marie AMOUR Banner Swap

The latest for my Marie Antoinette Mail Art group was a banner swap.  We spell the word, "AMOUR" and then trade to get all unique letters.  These are the pennants I created.

I'll be sure to post pictures of my completed banner once I get my swap back.

Now I'm headed off to pack for a retreat with my two best girlfriends.  We are scrapping (and yardsaling and antiqueing) all weekend at my parent's house in Payson.  Yum, I can smell the pine trees now.

Things of beauty

Joys forever.  I know I shouldn't love my things so much, but I do.  Taking pictures of my latest finds just made me fall even more in love with them.

Sawdust filled dolls I found at the thrift store.  The legs on all of them (except this tiny one) are unstuffed.

I love the hand-stictched tops and pencil markings.

A vintage earring my friend put in my Easter basket.

Yardsale find ~ aqua colored glass.  Perfect for tools or pencils at my desk.

And last, my favorite, gilded Works of Shakespeare.

Ahhhhh!  Bliss is surrounding yourself with things and people who make you happy.

When I have. . .

A brand new hairdo

With my eyelashes all in curl

I float like the clouds on air do.
I enjoy being a Girl!

I came up with this "1st haircut" layout as my April project for Mystic Paper.  The cute scissors everywhere on the Material Girl paper were calling my name.  And the sweet springy paper worked wonderfully with my photos.  I couldn't decide which pictures to use, so the Daisy D's hinges came in super handy.

I created a mini booklet out of 4"x12" brown cardstock which I folded in half and rounded the corners.  I hand stictched the center to bind it.  Then I attached one side of the hinges to the first page of the booklet, and the other to my layout.  I covered the brads that showed on the inside with the yellow patterned paper.  The red tabs are 7gypsies and from Mystic too, of course.  It was almost like working on a mini-album/layout.  Great fun.

Cosmo Cricket Bliss

Look at my scrumptious kit from Mystic Paper this month.

Daisy D's hinges, yellow velvet scalloped trim, gorgeously colored, amazingly patterned papers and stickers from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl line.  So Springy right?  Hmmm.  I have some ideas kickin' around up there.  My assignment is 1 (or 2) 12x12 layout(s), and I can't wait to get started then share the result with you all.

Be sure to visit Sheri and Jenna's blogs to see their cute kits this month.

Huge hugs for a happy April!
