La Push & Jacob Black

Hey all!

Another 2 pager in my Twilight album. For the "tide pools" I cut circles and Distress inked the edges. Then I dotted Stickles around and used my finger to spread it thin. The flimsy blue paper curled some which turned out okay because it added dimension. The wetness of the Stickles blended the Distress ink for a nice look too.

Should have taken a close up on the details of this one guys; sorry.

For the wolf, I found an outline clipart online and printed it to the size I wanted. Then I cut out the ears and face shapes and traced them onto Coredinations cardstock. (Did I mention I love this stuff?) I tore the edges in the shape I traced. Then I used a file for the inside face and ear details and shading. Last I drew the eyes, nose and mouth with a black Sharpie.

Quotes from Twilight on these pages:

"I loved the tide pools. They had fascinated me since I was a child; they were one of the only things I ever looked forward to when I had to come to Forks."

"Have you ever seen a driftwood fire?"

"Another legend claims that we descended from wolves — and that the wolves are our brothers still."

'I’m Jacob Black. You bought my dad’s truck."

"He flashed a brilliant smile, looking at me appreciatively in a way I was learning to recognize."

Baby ME

Another set for my parents 35th. The pages before this were titled, "First Came Love" & "Then Came Marriage." So following suit, I titled this one, "Then Along Came Holly." I was thinking of that song, "Along comes Mary" sang by The Association in 1966. I know, I'm weird. There is always some song humming around in my head. Ha! I always joke that if you give me a word, I can sing a song with that word in it.

Don't you love the retro bouncy walker?

Forks & First Sight

So are you all enjoying my Twilight Mini as I post it little by little? Hope so... I had so much fun creating it and I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out pretty darn close to the vision I had of it floating around up there in my brain before I put paper to chipboard.

For the page below, I found a drawing of something that looked like Bella's truck. Then I turned it to grayscale and printed it on Ruby Coredinations paper. (Love this stuff! Read all about it HERE.)

Here are the quotes I used:

"My primary motivation behind buying a car, despite the scarcity of my funds, was that I refused to be driven around town in a car with red and blue lights on top. Nothing slows down traffic like a cop."

"It does great in a collision."
"I don’t think a tank could take out that old monster."

"It was nice to be alone, not to have to smile and look pleased; a relief to stare dejectedly out the window at the sheeting rain and let just a few tears escape."

Below I used actual notebook paper under the long quote. That and the tiny manila folders were perfect for the "high school" theme I wanted for the page. You can't tell here, but pop dots were definitely my right hand man. Dimension is my friend! Hee hee. :)

And the quotes for the next pages:
"No blood, no foul."

"His fingers were ice-cold, like he’d been holding them in a snowdrift before class. But that wasn’t why I jerked my hand away so quickly. When he touched me, it stung my hand as if an electric current had passed through us.

"How did you get over here so fast?"

"Trust me."

Baby Brother

I know it's not Twilight, but ya gotta love these cute baby pictures of my little bro. Or do they scare you like vampires? Hee hee.

This is another 2 pager I did for my parent's 35th anni. album. Funny the rattle pic is one of the only snapshots I could find of just my brother. In most of them, it was me (the eldest) or we were together. (Note to self: Be sure to take little Izzy's picture all alone sometimes.) :) Enjoy!

You're 1 ~ Rock ON (MMSC#23)

I used the Midnight Madness #23 for this 1st birthday card for my nephew. He is one rockin' lil dude! I wanted to put a twist on the sketch so I did the opening doors on the front of the card.

Then for the burst shape in the corner, this grungeboard crossbones worked great. You can't tell in this picture, but he's all sparkly silver from Glimmer Mist. Two different sized black rhinestones accent his eyes and pull in the bling on the instruments above.

This is the front of the card with the doors open. I used a Tim Holtz mini compass mask on taupe paper with Silver Glimmer Mist for a negative image. Then I flipped the wet mask over and "stamped" the inside of the card with the positive image. (See below.) Pretty cool little trick I picked up along the way. The "1" is Rusty Pickle chipboard, and I just love it! I was so excited to use it in such a stand-out way.

This is the inside of the card with the front doors still opened.

I hope everyone enjoys my card and wants to come back for more. :) Hee hee. I love blogging.

Bella Swan

Here is the first 2 page spread in my Twilight Mini-Album.
All the names/titles in the book are glitter rub-ons. I bought an alpha set with lots in it so they would be uniform throughout. I started with Bella Swan, and these are the quotes I used.
"I was expected, a topic of gossip no doubt. Daughter of the Chief’s flight ex-wife, come home at last."

"Good luck tended to avoid me."

The clear oval shapeon the right is a black & white transparency which I just fell in love with. There are a couple more throughout the album too!

Twilight Mini Album Cover & Sneak Peek

Y'all ready for this?

I created this Twilight themed album to teach at Joann's this month. The next part of the saga, "New Moon" comes out in theaters 11.20.09 I can't wait! To all who have read this series, but have not checked out Stephenie Meyer's other novel, The Host, you are majorly missing out! Run to your bookstore or library and get it NOW! Honestly, it was really great! :)

Here is the cover. I cut the apple from patterned paper, mounted it on thin chipboard, & covered the entire thing with Glossy Accents.

The quote reads, "It's twilight. It’s the safest time of day for us. The easiest time. But also the saddest, in a way… the end of another day, the return of the night. Darkness is so predictable, don’t you think?"

Here is a sneak peek of the interior pages. I will be posting 2 page spreads from the Mini Album everyday, so be sure to check back.

We are Family!

Here are a couple more pages from the album I did for my parent's 35th anniversary. The name letters are Grundgeboard that I inked silver and then used Glossy Accents to make swirls all over. One of my favorite techniques. :) I {heart} Glossy Accents!

Midnight Madness #21

I made this card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #21. Check out the details at: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ I have been following the blog for a while now, but hadn't got a chance to play yet. What incredible fun this was to create a really unique card. Plus, the sketch made it easy.

My card is Breast Cancer Awareness/Support for this special month.

I pierced and hand stitched the edges with thin jute. The tag that I inked and stamped actually pulls out.

For the corner embellishment I used a pink vintage button from The Brass Armadillo antique store. It's all covered in cream paint. So shabby chic. I added a brown jute bow and a dingleberry left over from the side trim. The post letters are cutout from an embossed piece of Life's Journey K&Co. paper. And of course the decorative stick pin and heart jewelry charm.

I thought the stamp went perfectly with the cute little girls.

Mmmm... Flowers and pearls and romantic trim. My favorite.

Thanks for looking!
